This forum has a FAQ section. If you typed “Widgets” in the search box, you’d get this:

Widgets

You can also get to the Support info files from your dashboard: under “Help” (top right), or under “My Account” (top left), or directly (bottom).

Widgets often take the form of on-screen tools (clocks, event countdowns, auction-tickers, stock market tickers, flight arrival information, daily weather etc).

So all the little goodies ornamenting the sides of your wp blog!
