I’m confused.

I’ve paid for a yearly membership. My blog now displays the .wordpress.com and it’s asking me to buy that domain I’m sure I’ve already paid for. I don’t want to publicly disclose the domain in question. Can I speak to someone at WordPress?

    Thank you

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

  • Hi,

So, it will be a lot easier to look into this situation if we have the URL that the upgrade is associated with.

I’m not seeing any upgrades associated with the WordPress.com user account you are posting from. This typically happens when you’ve ended up with a second WordPress.com user account and that second account is the one that owns the upgrade. You’ll need to log into THAT account in order to make any changes.

If you do not have access to that second account, here are a few options:

    Account recovery overview – https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
    Lost password tool – https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
    Account recovery form – https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Finally, even if you do not have access to the correct account, if you have your payment information you can use our “Why was I charged?” tool. It was built for situations such as this:

    Why was I charged?

    Hi,

THank you for the reply. But I’ve only created one account, using one email. Is anyone authorised to check if the payment is gone through? The payment shows on my statement but it hasn’t been fully processed.

Can we take this conversation private?

Can you give us the URL of the domain you need help with? We can redact it from your reply once we can look up that domain information.

Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise and or direct you to the right place to get help.

    Thank you!

    {EDIT: URL REDACTED}

  • it’s asking me to buy that domain I’m sure I’ve already paid for

I think that staff assumed this mean you had purchased a custom domain name already. yourgroovysite.com, for example, rather than yourgroovysite.wordpress.com.

If you have no other WordPress.com user account and have not purchased another domain name, are you sure that you made a purchase through WordPress.com? Could you have purchased WordPress hosting from another host?

The confusion on our end is that the account you are posting from has no completed (or even attempted purchases). And if you really have no other WordPress.com account, there is no obvious way that you could have purchased anything from us.

Do you have a transaction ID for the purchase you made? (don’t post it here)

It says {EDIT: REDACTED} on my credit card statement. Can you check what that money was used to pay for? I’m not sure where the transaction ID is, I have no other information.

All I remember is that I paid and then I was asked to pay again…

  • What was the amount of the charge? That might be another clue for us.

  • Wait! I’ve tracked it down!

The problem is that you are simply logged into the wrong WordPress.com user account. This typically happens when you’ve ended up with a second WordPress.com user account and that second account is the one that owns the upgrade. You’ll need to log into THAT account in order to make any changes or work on your site.

If you do not have access to that second account, here are a few options:

    Account recovery overview – https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
    Lost password tool – https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
    Account recovery form – https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Finally, even if you do not have access to the correct account, if you have your payment information you can use our “Why was I charged?” tool. It was built for situations such as this:

OK so I logged in using my other gmail account and I found the payment record. Turns out the WordPress account looks exactly the same! same name, same post (I’ve only posted once).

After a few trials, my post has disappeared and I only see the default posts. I was logged in with the right gmail account, then a few clicks later I noticed that WordPress had switched to my second gmail account.

This is way too confusing for me, I haven’t even started and I’m having problems. Can you please refund me and delete those accounts please?
I don’t want to have to use WordPress again.

The fact that this ordeal had to be posted on public domain makes me mad.

    Thank you.

Seems like my post has vanished… In case you didn’t get it, I’m massively dissatisfied by this service and I’d like to have a refund and close those two accounts.

I found the second account but my only post is not vanished and WordPress switches automatically from one account to the other.

  • Hi,

There was a glitch in our forum software, and your previous post got hidden. I’ve now restored it.

If you log in to your @beyondwokeadmin account, you’ll be able to manage your site and register a custom domain for free.

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
