Im confused

I created a wordpress blog earlier in the day … without a host, just on the wordpress website . Now i have just created through a tutorial a hostgator one and i think it wont let me proceed because i had already created one?? I hope this makes sense . can anyone help . i am reluctant to delete the first one in case I cant get it again and that is my domain name

At WordPress.com we are the host, and you don’t need a separate hosting provider. We also provide maintenance and direct support if you have upgrades.
At Hostgator you’ve installed your own copy of the software, and you can change the code as you’d like. We don’t maintain it for you, but you’ll get updates and what not. And you would go to wordpress.org/support for help.
It’s a bit like the difference between a restaurant and a recipe if that makes sense. You are more than welcome to use both, too. It just helps to understand some of the differences. This article may help more:
