I'm moving from wix to wordpress. Help!

I’ve started a free website with wordpress but hope to buy premium soon. Currently my charity website is with wix.
I have a lot of questions please. Thank you in advance!1. WordPress premium looks cheaper than wix premium but is the A$99 only for the first year? Or will it always be A$99? I just want to make sure I don’t get caught out and get charged A$166 the next year.
2. Can I easily transfer my domain name from wix to wordpress? Or will I simply be mapping? (very new at this)
3. If I am mapping does that mean I still have to pay for wix to host my domain?
4. Can I have paypal payments on my wordpress site?
5. Do I get personalised emails with the premium upgrade?

1) the $ 99.- / year is not a teaser rate – but WordPress.COM does not guarantee the cost will not go up – that said the price increases I have seen here the last few years have been small
2) you can’t transfer the domain registration to WordPress.COM, you can map the domain name: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
3) You need to pay someone to keep your domain name registered – but you could transfer to another Registrar if you wanted, just not WordPress.COM
4) PayPal donate button is about it for payments

If I transferred my domain registration to another registrar could I then later move it to wordpress? Or does wordpress simply not accept transfers full stop?

WordPress.COM is not set up for incoming domain registration transfers. Once a custom domain name is registered outside WordPress.COM you can’t transfer it to WordPress.COM
