Im new…please help

Hiya. perhaps I am being a bit dim…it’s happened before.
I am going travelling and want to write a simple little blog. The above one is perfect. But I want to be able to resize and crop images, I dont have the software on my ipad mini to do this. Can I not do this as I upload? I cant seem to find any cropping tools.
Even when I choose another theme that seems to have set sizes that would work for me, like a grid, when I upload it remains the original size. Do I need to upgrade to be able to do this? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. While it is possible to crop and resize images from within the media library, it would be better to do it before you upload the images as the image editing tools on WordPress.com are very basic. Also, if your images are very large, it could lead to you using up your media storage faster if you don’t resize them first (resizing in the media library does not reduce file size).
If you don’t have an image editing app on your iPad, you can always use an online tool like http://pixlr.com/ Use that to resize and crop your images, and then upload them to WordPress.
You can find the instructions for editing images in the media library here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-editing/

Your theme does not determine the size of images. You set that yourself as you insert images. You can also resize images after you insert them in a post by clicking the image, clicking the pencil icon that appears, and then dragging the edges of the image like you would in Word (this is in a browser – I don’t know how the iOS app works). http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/adding-images-to-posts-or-pages/#editing-your-inserted-images
I think that grid you saw might be referring to an image gallery. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/
