I’m not able to delete my site, I keep getting a Contact Support Message

I’d like to delete my site but I only get the Contact Support button and unfortunately no phone number. This staging site is also now public and it used to be private. I can see where to change this but I am no longer able to (I don’t have access?). I’m also getting an site Admin error -32300: transport error – HTTP status code was not 200. Please help.

in 2019 we changed WordPress platforms (to .org from .com), and this staging site should have been deleted at that time.
This staging site https://temprivetmgmt.wpcomstaging.com/ used to be hidden but it no longer is and traffic is getting to this site, which is a duplicate of our actual website so that is not good.
We really don’t need this staging site and we’d just like to be rid of it/delete it. Can you please help us? -

This is something we can help with, however, the request to do so needs to come from the WordPress.com user account that owns the site as we need to verify ownership before we do anything here. Otherwise any random person could request we delete a site, so we need to verify ownership first.

The site has been reverted and can now be deleted by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/
