I'm not clear on the Social Media Sharing buttons

  I’m not clear on the social media sharing buttons.
  Are they for readers who have social media accounts to use regardless of whether or not I have any accounts?
  Or
  Do I have to have accounts with all that facebook, twitter, etc. BS to have those sharing buttons active for readers?

  Thank you. No wonder I was confused, I looked and read everything but that link you posted.
  Hmm, so even though I don’t have an account nor ever want one with any of those services, if I put a few of them buttons on my site it could open things up. Hopefully not too big though, it’s just me doing my little thing, that’s all.
