Im not receiving emails when I try to reset my password

  Help! I cant access my account so I can make the relevant changes to my set up. Ive tredi using the help system and included proff I own the domain name, but it keep saying do a password reset..

  Hi curleytop,

  What is the username of the account or address of the site you are having trouble resetting the password for? Have you checked your spam folder in case the emails have gone there?

  If your site was created with self hosted WordPress.org software, please contact your host or post to the WordPress.org support forums for advice.

  I’ll be happy to check where the site is hosted if you aren’t sure.

  Hi,
  Thanks for your reply. It’s a hosted site. My host says it looks like WordPress is installed properly. The site is Lisamachin.com

  Thanks for checking your host. lisamachin.com uses self hosted WordPress.org software rather than WordPress.com.

  We can help with password reset issues for WordPress.com sites because the emails are sent from our servers. However, lisamachin.com isn’t hosted here so we are unable to check on that for you.

  A couple of things spring to mind:

  1. Your host mentioned WordPress is installed correctly but it would be worth asking them whether the password reset email was sent successfully (if you haven’t received it) — they should be able to check their server logs.
  2. Are you using the email address used for your account on lisamachin.com (rather than your WordPress.com account)?

  As much as I’d love to help, posting to the WordPress.org support forums will be the next step :)
