Hello! Can you tell me more about what you mean by “subject heading”? Do you mean your tagline, which is currently:

    My Adventure Into Teacher Librarianship

This can be updated in your General settings:

Let me know if you meant something else!

    Hi Shawna,

You’re correct – I wans’t very clear about what I was trying to change. On the right-hand side of my blog there is a word “subject” and then a box that you can search. It’s not that! Under that it is titled “Recent Posts”, it’s not that either. Then it says “Subject” (as I’m studying various topics) and it lists ETL 503, ETL 504 and ETL 501. I can’t remember how to include another subject number (it’s been a year since I’ve studied) and I need to submit blogs under my new subject ETL 504 but I can’t remember how to add it or how to post to it. Any help would be much appreciated. I’ve upgraded to premium to get extra support.

    Thanks kindly,
    Samantha Ellis

Hi Samantha! Thanks for following up. :)

That “Subject” section is a Categories widget. In order to have a new course to appear there, you’ll need to create a new post for that new Category. You can do this by adding the Category “ETL 504” to your new post:

    Organize Posts with Categories

Let me know if I can help further!

    Shawna,

Now that I’ve managed to create a new categories widget called “ETL 504” how do I now add another post to that same category? I can’t seem to find anything when I’m typing up my post.

    Thanks!

    Hi Samantha!

If I understand correctly, you would like to display a list of the posts that are included in the ETL 504 category. Is that correct? If so, we don’t want to use the Categories widget. That will only display a list of your categories. Instead, we’ll want to use a plain text widget and include the Display Post Shortcode shown here:

    Display Posts Shortcode

So, for example, if you removed the Categories widget and a Text widget on your sidebar, you could put in something like this:

    [display-posts category="etl-504"]

That would display your posts listed in the ETL 504 category. Can you give that a try?
