I'm receiving subscription notifications for my own site, I'm not subscribing
-
Just noticed the email address didn’t come out. I have them on a Word Doc. so let me try otherwise you will have to wait until morning
[redacted]
It’s only likely to be one of the first two as they are new

Hi Shirlee!
The email addresses did actually come through. They will appear as “[redacted]” on your side though. I can see them however.
I appreciate you sending these over. This confirms my suspicions. One of your commenters must have checked the “Notify me of future posts” option when they commented which triggered your subscription notification. So, this is indeed the same issue we’ve been fighting. I’ll keep you updated as we get it resolved!

Jeremey, keep forgetting that extra ‘e’
I used to have some 5 or 6 pages of subscriptions for comments. Now when I look at the ‘Comment subscription‘ it’s showing that I have 32.
Click that, which takes me to Site Stats » Comment Follows
That shows 20 with the wording ” Displaying 1-20 of 131“That 131 was what I was getting previously. So any idea what’s happened there. I’ve been to the “enhanced stats on WordPress.com” which gives no comments stats at all?

Hi Shirlee!
Your comment subscriptions can be viewed here:
https://wordpress.com/stats/follows/comment/jewsdownunder.com
I found that page from the following page:
https://wordpress.com/stats/jewsdownunder.com
Towards the bottom of the page, I clicked on this link:
That seems to match the 131 total that you mention. Could you explain a bit more where you’re seeing the following wording?
Now when I look at the ‘Comment subscription’ it’s showing that I have 32.
If you could pass along a link, that would be very helpful!

I’ve always clicked on the graph ‘thingy’ at the top of the page which takes me to Site Stats.
Down the page you come to this
SubscriptionsFollowers
76 Blog
32 Comments
Clicking on the comments is where I am now only seeing 20 registrations, when previously it was 130.
When I go to this as you said
https://wordpress.com/stats/jewsdownunder.comI am not seeing this anywhere http://d.pr/i/vSBd
and can’t work out how you are getting to the first linkI will keep the first link bookmarked.
Whilst I am typing this 10.15am AEST I have just received a notification that I have subscribed AGAIN!!

Must have been a comment subscription, as there are no new followers.
I feel as if I am playing a cat and mouse game with WP!!!

Hi @sfinn2013,
Sorry for the confusion. Let’s clarify the comment issue a bit.
First, there are a few different places where you can get your stats. If you’re clicking on the graph on the top of your self-hosted site, you’re going to be directed to a page like this one:
http://jewsdownunder.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=stats
In the middle of that page, you should see something like this:
This means that you have 17 individuals that have subscribed to the comment section of a post. When you click on that number, you should see something like this:
That list provides the actual posts and then the number of individuals subscribed to each post. If you add up all of those numbers, you should reach the total number (17 in the example above).
You can also view your stats at WordPress.com, which looks a bit different. That page can be found here:
https://wordpress.com/stats/jewsdownunder.com
Can you see if that page will load on your side?
Towards the bottom of that page, you should see something that looks like this:
Beside “Total posts with comment followers”, you will see a number. That represents the total number of posts on your site with comment subscribers (it will read a bit over 100), not the number of comment subscribers.
If you click that number, you’ll be taken to this page:
https://wordpress.com/stats/follows/comment/jewsdownunder.com
That will show you a similar list as before with a list of all posts that have comment subscribers and the number of subscribers per post on the right-hand side.
Does that help to clarify?

No problem! When you get a chance to look, please let me know if the clarification below makes sense or if you have trouble finding any of the stats I mention.

YES
In the middle of that page, you should see something like this:
YES
This means that you have 17 individuals that have subscribed to the comment section of a post. When you click on that number, you should see something like this:
YES …. It’s showing 33, when I click on it says “Displaying 1–20 of 133” with no way of getting to those 133
That list provides the actual posts and then the number of individuals subscribed to each post. If you add up all of those numbers, you should reach the total number (17 in the example above).
Nope it doesn’t.
You can also view your stats at WordPress.com, which looks a bit different. That page can be found here:

No Followers of Comments only the web site

If you click that number, you’ll be taken to this page:There is no number to click
https://wordpress.com/stats/follows/comment/jewsdownunder.com
This link is fine but I used to be able to see this before WP started to muck around and changed it all. That will show you a similar list as before with a list of all posts that have comment subscribers and the number of subscribers per post on the right-hand side.
Does that help to clarify?NO
Now you can tear your hair out

YES …. It’s showing 33, when I click on it says “Displaying 1–20 of 133” with no way of getting to those 133
Could you upload a screenshot of this full page to your Media Library so I can take a look? Screenshot instructions can be found here:
The navigation should be either at the top right-hand corner of the page or the bottom right-hand corner.
You can also view your stats at WordPress.com, which looks a bit different. That page can be found here:
https://wordpress.com/stats/jewsdownunder.com
No Followers of Comments only the web siteDo you see a section titled “Other Recent Stats” at the bottom like this:
If not, please take a full screenshot of this page as well so I can take a look!

Jeremy let’s forget this please. I’ve totally lost track of what we are doing here and I really don’t have the time to fiddle. I have the link saved which you gave me for Comment Followers, that will do for the odd occasion I need to access that. This is all started when WP changed the Stats Page, it was fine until then.
-
Jeremy are you still around? If so can we start again now that I am less stressed out please.
-
Hi Shirlee.
I see that Shawna was able to help with your questions around stats via email. :) If you have any questions around that, just let us know.
-
Yes thanks Shawna helped me. Seems like the best place to see Stats is going to be deleted, which is a shame as it is the most comprehensive and going back to when the blog was first started.
