Hello,

I just ”bought” a domain, example blogdomain.com

It was purchased via paypal and domain registration was 18 euro and private settings was 8 euro (pretty sure it’s all the same in dollars).

It was intended to replace my WordPress domain, which is currently still wordpress.blogdomain.com

When going to “blogdomain.com” I get this message:

Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found.
Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.

What goes wrong?

Also, when I go to ”cart”, there’s still two items (domain registration and private settings), clicking that gets me to the same page, only difference is payment option, which initially was a paypal button, but now has ”26 credits”, to pay the price (which I assume are loaded after having paid with paypal for the package).

I tried this all and checked it, but then it says the domain is already taken. It didn’t say that the first time, meaning I did purchase the domain.

That wouldn’t explain these credits, and why a message pops up instead of what I want.

I hope someone will explain a little bit with the info I’ve provided.

Hi, did you purchase this domain at WordPress.com?

If no, you have to pay for Domain Mapping additional $13.00 per domain, per year.

What is the REAL URL / Domain name you need help with – that info is needed for someone to double check some settings

For starters It sounds like you did not also do domain mapping – that is needed to make the domain name work – see above for the instructions

Note that the domain is http://writingcabinet.com/ because WordPress.com automatically removes the “www” from all URLs:

First, it looks like you have several threads open regarding this issue. I’m going to reply back here and close the others with a link back to this thread. Please keep all further correspondence here!

The domain writingcabinet.com should be all setup correctly now on your account. It’s currently loading your site correctly. Can you confirm it’s working for you as well?

There’s one last step – you should have been sent an email from ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) confirming your email address. Can you confirm your address through that email? Let me know once you’ve done that, and I’ll setup the private registration component!
