I’m thinking of deleting my wordpress blog; I’m moving to another server

I’m thinking of deleting the wordpress blog. I’ve set up a new domain on another server and have exported all my material to my new site. The majority of my readers go to my wordpress.com site. Is there anyway I can delete or have a message saying the site has been moved?
As of now, I have a simple message explaining the changes and circumstances and offer the link to my new site. However, everyone knows the site and are still visiting it as opposed to my new one. What are my options?

The message on your wordpress.com blog is about your only way. That’s what I did, and it worked out well. There is no way of automatically redirecting viewer from your wordpress.com blog.
Once everything is moved and in place, I would delete, or mark private, all of the other posts on your .com blog so the search engines don’t end up finding duplicate posts.
