I’m too much of a novice to even be trying to do things on WordPress. I did manage a blog post, but I see I have something that needs moderation–whatever that means in this instance.
Also I want to post another excerpt on one of my book’s pages, and can’t even find the page!!
I seriously need help. Why did I even think I could do this? Because I need a website presence. Not that I’ve got it, I don’t know what to do with it–Nor how to tell people I’ve got it!!
Call me whatever you want–I’ll agree–before I burst into tears of frustration.

No need to panic! You’re already well on your way and that’s huge. It’s just some of the details that need to be worked out. :)
OK, so first off there’s managing comments. There are a couple of ways to do this. The first way is through the email notification that we sent you, you’ll notice there are links to approve, deny, mark as spam, etc. It’s important to note that if you think the comment is spam, mark it as such. It is a huge stroke to anyone’s ego to think “hey, people are reading and commenting on my blog!” but comment spam is a huge problem and we rely on people marking spam as spam so that we can catch people.
So anyway, you can just click those links and the right web page will open for you to click “are you sure” and you’ll be done. The second way (in case you lose that email) is to log in to your Dashboard (get to your dashboard by going to WordPress.com >> Log in >> Click the tab in the upper left that says “My Sites” >> Then click the link that says “WP Admin”. That’s your Dashboard). Once you’re in your Dashboard you’ll notice a little orange number on the left next to the menu item “Comments.” Click it and you’ll see a list of your comments, and again you can approve, deny, mark as spam, or trash it. There you have it!
In regard to your pages, what exactly are you trying to do? Excerpts are things you usually do with posts rather than pages so I’m not entirely sure what you’re going for. But if you can give me some additional insight into your goals I can give you as much help as i can!

First off, what are all those little boxes above this? Close it about the only word I recognize!
About the pages and insert rather than a post. I have an excerpt from one of my books that I deleted from the book as a digression, that I would like to post for whomever might read my blog.
But it is very long, so I thought putting it with the book it was cut from might be better.
I’m open to any suggestions. And btw thank you much for the way to get to my dashboard and what to do when I get there!

Well, I had no luck getting to my site by wordpress.com. All it gave me were two huge ads for updating my site. Can’t say that’s very helpful!
And when I used my name on Google, I got in but the blog doesn’t show my last post when it showed yesterday. No very good either.
I’d like to use your online chat help but now it’s not around either. Did I use the word, frustrating??

So sorry that there was confusion with our new WordPress.com site! It can happen.
I’ll give you a hint though. No matter where you are, you can always get to that Dashboard I mentioned before directly by just going to this address:
https://reneegoudeau.wordpress.com/wp-admin
You’ll be prompted to log in using your WordPress.com username and password, but after that you’ll see the links which I mentioned and you’ll be good to go! It’ll cut your navigation time in half.
(I wasn’t trying to take you the long way before, I just wanted you to know your way to get there properly!)
