I'm trying to access my IntenseDebate account via WP

Can anyone please tell me how I authorize my WordPress’s connection to my IntenseDebate account? That’s what I’m being told to do on the Help pages – it even shows a little screenshot of where you click – but I can’t see where you actually do this. Doesn’t seem to provide a link to it either. Please help, this has been driving me nuts!

I’m afraid you’re in the wrong forum. This support forum is for free WordPress.com blogs. You appear to have a self-hosted WordPress.ORG install. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

@kokkieh many thanks for your help! Unfortunately that doesn’t make sense (not your suggestion, the scenario) as this is the WordPress website that I’m redirected to when trying to log into IntenseDebate, so I went straight to the Help section and wound up here. I do know that there is a difference between the two, but it was Gravatar that I signed up to originally – the login is supposed to also work for WordPress (which it does) and IntenseDebate (which it doesn’t).
I will of course try your suggestion – the whole thing sucks when websites are linked this way, I find it always causes so many problems. Thanks again.

My apologies. I went on the URL attached to your username and you didn’t specify it’s a Gravatar issue.
I see the Gravatar support section links back here, so I’ll tag this for staff to follow up. Please be patient while waiting for their reply.
Still try the .org forum as well. None of us here can use plugins like IntenseDebate, so perhaps someone on that forum has experienced this problem and knows the fix.

Thanks ever so much. It’s not really a Gravatar issue (meaning I don’t have a problem with Gravatar), it’s IntenseDebate that’s causing the problem. Basically I just cannot login into it as it says I have a WP account, then when I log into WP there’s no link to IntenseDebate – it still tells me I have to login.
I installed IntenseDebate comments on my (Blogger) blog and wanted to change my settings so that I receive emails each time I get a comment. Unfortunately I’ve now decided to uninstall IntenseDebate as this has proved to be far too difficult for a newbie blogger (even with my pro-blogger wife’s help)! I really appreciate your help – though if you were to look up the problem for others it may of course help them for future reference :-)
