I'm trying to change my theme and it's telling me I need to upgrade

    Hi,

    Could you please provide more information like which theme are you trying to change the button theme to?

    Maybe you are trying to access premium themes? Premium themes comes at no extra cost for Premium and Business plan users

    Premium themes may also be purchased individually if you not under Premium/Business plan.

    Hi there,

    You’re currently on the Free plan. If you want to use a Premium plan you can either purchase it separately or upgrade to the Premium plan which will allow you to use all the premium themes for free.

    Also, if you like to upload third-party themes (outside of WordPress.com) you need to upgrade to the Business plan.

    I’m on the free plan? But I paid $$ to get wordpress- like over $400. Does that not include anything?

    I checked my notifications and it said in order to use themes I needed to confirm my email. I went to my emails and confirmed. It still wouldn’t let me.

    In addition to trying to use the themes on wordpress.com, I would really like to use the MH Magazine Theme, found it on a website that talked about top ten FREE themes. I downloaded it and it showed up as a zip file. Not sure what to do with it from here.

    I’m following up here for fstat. There aren’t any upgrades or purchases connected to the user account that you are using here in this thread. It’s possible that you have created a duplicate account, but we can’t see that here unless you sign in to that account.

    The WordPress.com pricing can be found at wordpress.com/pricing/ and you can add your charge details to https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ to see if it is indeed from WordPress.com.

    My suspicion is that you purchased something that is not from us based on the $400 amount. Our most expensive plan, the business plan, is only $300
