I'm trying to disable two-step authentication and it doesn't work.
-
I’m trying to disable two-step authentication and it doesn’t work. I press the “Disable” button, get the prompt to enter a verification code. I do that. It briefly says “verifying” and then it displays the screen for setting up two-step authentication as if it was the first time I was setting up two-step authentication. And the odd thing there is that the mobile phone number I use is filled out, but when I click “Next”, I just get a message that it is an invalid phone number.
How can I get rid of two-step authentication? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I figured it out. I was expecting a “two-step authentication disabled” message, instead of the screen to set up two-step authentication after disabling it.
I did the following:
1 – Regenerated a list of backup codes
2 – Used one of those codes to disable two-step authentication
3 – Logged out – this step was important
Then when I logged back in and went to the security settings, I saw that two-step authentication was gone and I had the prompts to set it up again, and it accepted my mobile phone number. -
Hi there,
I’m glad it all worked out! Looks like everything is as it should be on our end!
