I'm trying to migrate a wordpress.org site from an xml file and it didn't work

  Hi I tried using the import tool to migrate a WordPress.org site onto wordpress.com but it didn’t work. I need some help

  1. Is the site you have the XML export file from still online?
  2. If yes, what is the URL?
  3. Did you remove all spam, advertising, and unmoderated comments before you created the XML file?
  4. How large is the XML export file?
  5. Has 24 hours passed since you tried the import?
  6. Did you receive any error messages? If so, post them here please.

  Sometimes the importer gets stuck. If the XML export file is large you may have to import Posts, Pages, etc. in separate files. Or if the XML export file is very large Staff may have to do the import.

  Can you tell me more about what you are having trouble with — which site are you importing to? Are you seeing any error messages when you try and import the .xml file?
