I'm upset about a post I updated – it was published as new.

When I updated a post, suddenly it became a new post. That has never happened to me before. It was my Table of Contents and originally the link to it was: http://myjourneysinsight.com/2010/04/03/table-of-contents/

This is a HUGE screw up for me having it as a new post. i had a link to it on every post and there are over 450 of them! Now that link is no longer active. Can you please tell me what I did wrong when I updated that post? Actually, PLEASE restore my post to where it was originally with the link above. I pray you can do that for me. Thank you.

    Hi Judy,

I’m very sorry for the trouble with your Table of Contents. It looks like when the post was updated, the publish date for the post was also updated. Since the publish date is part of the link to the post, the old link stopped working.

I just found the post and changed the date back so your original link is working again:

    TABLE OF CONTENTS

If you can describe the exact steps you took when you updated that post, I can investigate why the date changed there. If there was a bug in the post editor that caused it, I can report that to our team to get that fixed up.

Thank you so much, Rachel! I don’t know if there was a bug, but I had started using the new system. I’ll probably stay in classic mode although the new system had some nice features. But if I use the new system, I’ll make sure to see that the publish date is the correct one. I never anticipated that happening! If it happens again, I’ll get in touch with you.

That sounds like a good plan! I’ll also let our team know that there may be an issue with the publish date in the new editor, at least when editing an existing post.

Just let me know if I can do anything more to help. :)
