  • Hi there,

Do you have this site under a different WordPress.com user account? The only site I see listed under this account is http://uucsscandidatepacket.com/

Is this for a different site? If so can I have the link to the page or post where I can see the image alignment issue you are referring to?

    Thanks for the additional info!

    That’s it. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.

  • Can you point me to a particular page or post where you are having this issue? It helps to see it for myself.

Also, what “should” it look like, if it were working as expected?

    Thanks!

this page works with the h4 tag on the outside of the image insertion.

this page has no headings but just paragraph text and I just can’t get it to align like on the other page.

Also not sure how to align you tube video on a page. It seems to want to just be centered. Would be nice to align left or right.

    Thanks for your help,

    Linda

  • Thanks for the links, they help a lot in trying to understand what you are trying to accomplish.

Yes, that has a lot to do with the problem you are having, and there is not an easy solution for the layout you are trying to accomplish. Headings, as you have noted, have the effect of creating a break in the page where an image stays above the line, whereas paragraph text does not. This is a limitation of HTML and not WordPress.com

I recommend that you try to use headings as well, if you must have your layout divided in “sections” as you seem to be attempting, or try a different layout

No problem. To do this will require using HTML which you can do by clicking on the “text” tab on the upper right corner of the text window you see when you are editing your page or post. Once you have done that, find the video shortcode you added for the YouTube video, and add the HTML you see here to align the video to the left:

    <div class="alignleft" style="padding-right:15px;">[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhD9Jc4ReAY&w=300&h=225]</div>

If you want to align it to the right, then you would add this code:

    <div class=”alignright” style=”padding-left:15px;”>[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhD9Jc4ReAY&w=300&h=225]</div>

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
