Image and text layout control problems for newbie

I am just starting a magazine style website on wordpress (hapnlin.com) using the Origin template . Creating my first page I am frustrated by the difference in Visual vs. Preview. I will be constantly mixing images and text and I need better control of the layout. Any pointers? Thanks, Hap Mullenneaux

We have a simple guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-alignment/ regarding image alignment. We have on our roadmap to improve the visual editor since, I agree, it can take too long to get used to the visual editor not matching the preview.
Are there any particular layout issues you’ve ran into or that you’re expecting to face that I could help with?

Thanks. I have given up on Visual and am just using Text and Preview. So far I have been able to get a workable placement using image alignment and a some <p>. Hap
