image appearance not corresponding to the expected page design
-
I bought POCKET among the premium themes, I liked the elegant balance in the proportions between the images and sections of the page, yet, as I try to replace the default images with my ones (which have the same width as the default ones, 1200px) instead of obtainig the same result, the images are resized to a width of 700px, no matter if I change this setting through the overall css setting box or if I change the image size post by post…
here’s where my main page is, I just started to work on the site… http://dharmareiki.wordpress.com and here’s how images should in fact appear using pocket theme: http://pocketdemo.wordpress.com/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Images embedded within a post or a page are limited to 705px in width as you’ve experienced. You can see this on the demo here:
http://pocketdemo.wordpress.com/2014/06/07/above-the-clouds/
The size of that image is 705px wide as shown here:
The larger image you’re seeing at the top of the posts and pages is actually the featured image:
That should appear 1175px in width as shown here:
Can you try setting the image as the featured image for your page rather than embedding it and see if you get the look you’re going for?

Hi Jeremy, thank you so much,
yes I want to use my images as the featured ones, but I could’t find where to do this, so I thought writing a post was the only way to imput text and images into a page…
Also, could you please tell me how to eliminate all typical blog features, as this site will not be used as a blog: comment fields and all the listed things at the bottom of the main page: archives, categories, last articles…
Thanks so much! -
One more thing: I am using a contact form, but my email address is displayed where people should type in their ones, how do I prevent this? I’d prefer all form fields to be empty anyway, I don’t need any example text…

Please see below!

Looks like you were able to get this going as I’m seeing some featured images on your site, but just in case, here are some instructions!
could you please tell me how to eliminate all typical blog features, as this site will not be used as a blog: comment fields
To remove the comment form on the bottom of pages/posts, you will need to disable comments from your site. This can be done on a per-page/post basis or site-wide. Instructions for both can be found here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#enabledisable-comments
and all the listed things at the bottom of the main page: archives, categories, last articles…
I believe you’re referring to the widgets here:
Is that correct? If so, you can remove them by following the instructions here:
I am using a contact form, but my email address is displayed where people should type in their ones, how do I prevent this?
This is filling in your information because you’re logged into WordPress.com when you’re viewing the form so it’s pre-populated. However, visitors will see a blank form. You can test this by logging out of WordPress.com and visiting your contact form.

there are still a lot of things at the bottom of the home page, which I want to remove, can you please have a look to see what I’m talking about?everything that you’ll see below the “like button” is what I want to get rid of, here’s the page: http://dharmareiki.wordpress.com/
thanks again!!!

It looks like the page template for the page is set to “Custom Archive”:

You can see this here:
Can you try changing that to default?
