Image as a clicky link
-
Hello! i’m working my way round WP, setting up a blog. Most of it I’m managing, but can someone help a newbie who can’t find how to add a link as an image to my sidebar? Basically I want to click on an image to go to another website….. Please?…. BIG thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction …
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First make sure the image isn’t wider than your sidebar – see here:
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/01/11/sidebar-width/
(If it is, edit it in an image editing application to scale it down.)Then upload the image from your computer to your blog via Media > Add new (dashboard sidebar) and copy the file URL you’ll get.
Then there are three ways you can use to make it show up in your sidebar. Easiest one: go to Appearance > Widgets, drag an Image widget to Sidebar, paste file URL and website URL, click Save.

Oh excellent!! thank you sooo much it was the URL from the uploaded image that I didnt quite get. Job done. thanks again

You’re welcome.
For the record, the other two ways are:
1) Code in a Text widget.
2) Creating an image link in Links > Add New, and adding a Links widget.
