Image as a link – How to lose the black outline?
-
blog location:
http://finishwellendurance.wordpress.comHi All!
Probably an elementary question here, but I’ll throw it out. I use the Tarski theme (white background) and like to use images with white backgrouds so the blend. When I try to link and image to a URL, I get a thin black line around the image (so right now none are linked as I don’t like the look). Is there a way to turn off this black box?
Thanks!

Edit your image in “Advanced Settings”
and on the line “Border” type in a 0 (zero)
update. -
1tess,
I hope I’m not being too dense, but where do I access “Advanced Settings?” I checked under the Media as well as Settings tabs, but didn’t see it. Under “Media” I clicked edit on one of my images to see what would come up, but still didn’t see any advanced options. Am I just over-looking it?

nevermind, just saw it, you have to go into the post, eh. I’ll give this a shot, thank you.

Thanks 1tess, for the most part that killed the black border. Now that it is gone, I’ve noticed one other artifact. The image is underlined, just a a text link would be. Is there a way to remove that as well? I am basically putting image links in the text widget of my sidebar, first creating them on a dummy page and then pasting the html into the widget window. Any thoughts?

Unfortunately I don’t think you can.
Maybe you could hide it by adding a white border to the pictures.Code for this border: <p style="border:4px solid #ffffff;border-radius:6px;-khtml-border-radius:6px;-moz-border-radius:6px;-webkit-border-radius:6px;padding:10px;"> TEXT_HERE </p>from this very informative blog:

Thanks 1tess. Do you think it would be a css issue, or can you remove “decoration” via html?
-
When you go to the advanced tab for editing the image, in the “styles” field put
text-decoration: none; -
-
Yes there is. The “style” field is where you can override or change settings that are applied to the image in the CSS. In the case of taking away the border and the underline, in the style field I would put the following:
border: none; text-decoration: none;and that should take care of them both.
