Image as a tooltip
-
Hi,
I would like the ability to create a hyperlink, that if clicked would actually go the linked image. But if the cursor hovers above the link, I would like to display a smaller version of the image. Is it possible to do this?
Thanks!

The closes thing would be the gallery shortcut.

Also by linking your name to your blog it will serve the purposes…
If you need to ask a support question in the forum then it will make it easier for the volunteers to see what blogging platform your using & will aide them in giving you a more accurate answer to your issue.

Thanks for your responses teck07. I did update my name to link to my blog. There isnt anything there yet to illustrate my issue.
Anyways I checked out the picture gallery feature and I dont wish for the pics to show up in the post. Specifically I want the reader to only see the picture if she hovers over the link and if she wants to see a larger image then she can just click on the link.
Thanks!

Take a look at this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-hide-a-set-of-words-unless-i-click-on-it?replies=26 I think it is similar to what you want to do. And it seems it is not possible without javascript, which is not allowed here at wordpress.COM due to security concerns.

If you enable “snapshots” in Design> Extras, then you get a thumbnail when you hover the mouse over a link to an image. Might take some time to load, though, and this is a general setting that will apply to all your links – can be really annoying. If you only want it for some links, then you need popup windows: as Vivian says, these require javascript – not possible.
