Image Automatically Resizing

On my blog I have an image that is meant to be used as a desktop background if my viewers want it. I periodically update it, and have just updated it for the first time since the editing system was updated. I have found out that the way the image is posted has changed. Before the image would show up as smaller on the webpage, in order to fit, but if you went to the file’s URL or downloaded the image, it would still be the correct size. Now not only can you not click the image, but when you go to its URL by dragging it to the top or if you download it, a smaller version of the image is used instead of one of the original size and quality, as in the file itself has been shrunken. I’ve checked the file I uploaded to WordPress, it is the correct size. Even the WordPress media library lists it as being the right size, so it must be resized upon putting it on a post. As this image is meant to be a desktop background, getting it to be the right size and quality is very important. Is there anyway to fix this that I’m missing? Thank you.

To link an image so that the original version is opened when you click on it, click on the image in the editor and then click on the link icon in the edit toolbar.

On the image size, what you may be noticing is a sized version showing in the editor itself (this is done for speed). If you preview in a separate window or check the image after it is published, then the size should be the full one if you have inserted it that way.

Alright, thanks. Now that the image is a link, it works.
