Image borders in Gateway theme

  Hi, I’m hoping there’s a way to get rid of the drop shadow that appears around images on the home page – they’re auto-cropped into squares and I’m trying to be able to show vertical and horizontal images by putting them on a plain white square background. The problem is that when I do this, the drop shadow gives away the actual image and it looks horrible. Is there a way to fix this without purchasing the customization upgrade?

  I’m trying the free customization trial, so if I can get rid of the drop shadow on the images I’ll purchase. Any tips would be greatly appreciated – this is my first shot at editing CSS! Thanks!

  Hi there!

  Your site is marked private, I just requested access so I can give you greater assistance.

  You’re going to want to do something similar to:

  img {
    box-shadow: none !important;
  }

  The “img” part will probably need to change but it’s hard to know without looking at the site exactly what ID to use for the element. If you do it on your own, you’ll want to look into learning how to use “dev tools” in Chrome or Firefox. Also CodeAcademy has a great course that would be a great place to start. That course should give you more than enough to make the changes you describe.

  Also, if you’d like assistance with the exact CSS to use, please provide a page with and example so we can see exactly what is happening.

  Hi Jason,

  Sorry, I forgot to come back and mark this as resolved! I found a friend who helped me figure it out – it was to do with the settings for the feature images that show up on the home page. Site is private for now while I’m arranging content, but will be public once it’s done! Thanks for your offer of help – greatly appreciated, and I’ll definitely check out the CodeAcademy course you recommended.

  nella demo del tema gateway si usa una foto copertina molto grande,
  nella personalizzazione questa possibilità non la vedo. posso solo inserire foto 2560 × 640 pixel. come fare, grazie!
