Image box is askew

  • Unknown's avatar

I load pictures all the time and tonight when I uploaded a picture the image box which one works with wont scroll down far enough to “insert into post”. Basically I really want to grab the box and move the whole box up a few inches. This works great with Windows but not with this WordPress feature. What should I do?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can’t answer ANY technical questions without a link to the blog in question, starting with http. We always need to see the blog.

Here is the blog link: http://streufamily.wordpress.com/

But it’s when you try to post and insert an image on your dashboard that the image box is too low to work with.

I have uploaded a screenshot and you can see that the scroll bar is unable to go all the way down to “insert into post”.

That’s very unusual; I’ve never seen it offset by that much. Is it not responsive to the combination of scroll bar on the right and either the arrow or the pagedown button? Mine cuts off, but only by a line or two and I just scroll down.

@qtrixie…ok not sure if this is what your talking about but after looking at your screen shot it appears the main body of the Post page is to small. If you look to the right at the very bottom corner of that area you will see three slash marks (nex to where you see the “draft” information for you post. Grabbing that and pulling it down will increase the size of the area where you type. Then try clicking on “the insert image” button to see if that works for you.

I’ve seen this before – a couple times I think right after updates (which happened last weekend). I would contact staff directly and make sure and let them know what browser and browser version you are using.

tfockler60 – Thanks for trying but it didn’t work.

thesacredpath – You are always so helpful and I will contact the staff. I will report back.

FYI this is not happening on my other WordPress blog. Strange.

Just to finish this off. I finally just changed themes to fix the problem. Argh!

    @qtrixie
Please contact Staff. We have had others who have had issues today. They aren’t exactly the same as yours but Staff may be able to help you. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

I just changed the theme. I did contact them and basically got the brush off. I hate being talked to like I’m and idiot. Yes I know how to cut my cookies…..yes, I know to clean up my browser……..

I’m sorry you aren’t happy but we cannot cure your browser issues from this end of things. If you aren’t willing to use another browser for example Firefox 3.6.4, and you have updated your Flash, then I don’t know how either Staff or Volunteers can help you. :(

To me the theme has a bug. Since changing the theme I’ve had no more problems. My other wordpress blogs also have no problems. The theme I was using was dying out each day and had more and more problems.

    Change theme, problem solved.

About using another browser or updating to higher gadgetry: I have tried this but my users are kids/parents who use basic Windows and this made their usage almost impossible. I do blogs for my audience so I try to stay with applications they can actually see and see what/how I want them to. Most kids have the use of their parents oldest systems.
