Image caption will not center align

This is an issue that a search finds was reported only nine years ago so I can’t imagine you’ll get to it any time soon, but even so, I can’t imagine why any theme would disallow alignment of image captions if the image itself has been aligned. I faked it with the inelegant solution of inserting shift-spaces, but felt moved to post as well in order to bump the issue. Thanks.

Hi @DlanodDrahcir, typically image captions will align center. If you’ll send a link to an example post where they’re not aligning, we’ll take a look.

Well, I attempted it here (https://teetert0tter.wordpress.com/2020/10/30/in-witch-i-go-all-halloweenie/) but my solution was to not have a caption at all. So I doubt the link is very useful. I tried to prepend a caption with shift-spaces, but that was still whitespace and was stripped out.
If you search on the problem I described you get hits that go back to at least 2011. My suggestion is to create a test post, align an image to the right border, and caption it. Some themes might support the ability to align that caption, but it is evident that many do not, and in those cases you will find the caption left-aligns no matter what you do.
