Image captions have the same format as body text
-
I’m using the Nuntius theme on WordPress.com and find that if I edit anything (format, size etc) about inserted images in a draft blog post then all of the image captions turn into the same format as the body/ paragraph text. No amount of formatting short of deleting the image and re-inserting it into the post can change the format back. This is really, really annoying and I would be very grateful if anyone has any ideas on how to deal with it.

What browser and version are you using?
Captions are notoriously finicky. Try editing in the HTML editor ONLY and also report the issue to staff via your dashboard Help button.

The formatting of image captions is pre-configured and not directly editable: if you try to apply any change to a caption using any of the tools of the editor, the image code gets messed up, and then yes the only thing you can do is delete the image and re-insert it. It’s best to insert captioned images after you’ve finished with everything else.

Ooooh I see! Thanks for the awesome advice guys, really appreciate it. I will let the WP guys know and stick to your other advice in the meantime. To think that I actually switched from FireFox to Chrome because of this issue… X)

You’re welcome.
And no, that’s no reason to switch from Firefox to Chrome. I’m a regular in these forums: issues that prove to be browser-related are almost always Explorer, sometimes Chrome, almost never Safari or Firefox.

Hahaha yea I know what you mean-I’ve been using Chrome because my laptop seems to run superhot when I’ve got Firefox on (especially with multiple tabs.. I also thought it was causing the WordPress errors though so it could just be unscientific assumptions rather than anything else…
