Image Captions Showing as HTML
-
Hi there,
I am wondering if someone could look at this article and see if they can assist with getting the caption under a photo in a blog post to display correctly? We didn’t use to have this issue and I’m wondering if a new update is causing it or what could be going on.
Thanks in advance! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed hosting. Your site uses WordPress.org and is hosted elsewhere. We can help with WordPress.com sites in this forum.
There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it: WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org.
To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions.
Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at your current provider. As a result, we do not have access to your site and are not familiar with the source of your issue.
You definitely have the option to move your site to us so we can provide in-house help, but as it stands now, we cannot help since it is hosted elsewhere. The good news is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting
The folks in that forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues and are in the best position to help. Thanks!

This can be caused by a variety of factors, including problems with your website’s code or with the image caption plugin you are using.
Here are a few things you can try to resolve this issue:
- Check your code: Make sure that there are no syntax errors in the code that generates the image captions. Even a small error can cause the captions to display incorrectly.
2. Check your image caption plugin: If you are using a plugin to generate your image captions, make sure that it is up to date and compatible with your current version of WordPress or your website platform.
3. Disable conflicting plugins: If you have multiple plugins installed on your website, it’s possible that one of them is conflicting with the image caption plugin. Try disabling all other plugins and see if the issue is resolved.
4. Use a different plugin: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider using a different image caption plugin. There are many options available, and some may work better for your specific needs.
I hope these tips help you resolve the issue with your image captions.
