Image captions style not showing correctly

  Hi, this is the problem:
  – Instead of the default caption style (i.e: slightly smaller and grey in colour), my site displays them as though they were body text.
  – By default, image captions are also supposed to be centre-aligned, but now it’s left-aligned on all posts.

  I used different devices to view my site but the result is the same.

  I searched through the forums but coding solutions can’t work in my case as I’m on a free WordPress plan. I simply want the captions font type, size and alignment to revert back to the theme’s default state.

  Hi @mjcommunityvault, could you link to an affected post? I know there’s been an issue with centering but I think it’s either resolved now or will be shortly. If you’ll link me to your post I can confirm.

  Hi there,

  This is because you are using image blocks from the block editor in those posts.

  The block editor uses different HTML from the classic editor to create image captions, and older themes don’t have any styling specified for for the HTML used by the block editor. As a result, the caption uses the default styling of the block itself.

  I’ll report this to our developers and ask if there’s any possibility that the theme you’re using will be updated to change this, but I can’t make any promises.

  Ah I see … I’m glad to learn the reason behind it. Thank you so much for the info, @kokkieh. For now, I’ll just try to edit the post with the classic editor or simply look into other WordPress themes for my site. I do hope the Plane theme can be updated in the future, as it’s a lovely theme of its own. :)
