Image Compression

You guys must have upgraded something on your side to increase the compression ratio for the uploaded images, because they look absolutely horrible now! The JPG encoding is blocky and discolored. The whole site has become awful now, like we’re back in 1992 on 2400 baud modem!
Examples are clearly visible on this page, where the original images are crisp and clear:

This is still a big problem for me, especially because of displaying images, which are a very important aspect of my site.
