Image dimension supported by wordpress.com

    i am using the trial version and i cant install plugins . I add image files of 2048*1200 , when previewed the image dimension is reduced . is that because i am using trial version ? whats the maximum image dimension supported in paid version . based on this i need select between wix and wordpress.com

  • Hi @meetrijas,

    If you go to your Media settings located from your wp-admin dashboard, you’ll be able to fiddle around with your image dimensions.

    Additionally, you don’t need a paid upgrade to edit these settings.

    The image is reduced, because the size at which an image can display is determined by your theme, and also by the dimensions of the monitor you are using. It has nothing to do with whether you are paying for an upgrade or not. On the bottom of the theme description page of each theme in our showcase you’ll find the maximum content width for that theme.

    You can upload a 5000px image if you want to, but all you’ll be doing is wasting storage space, as there is no computer monitor that can display an image at that size at full size, and thus also none of our themes that will do that. It will work exactly the same with Wix – you cannot display an image at a bigger size than the screen someone is using to view it.
