Image display problem

When using mobile device images in the media library do not display correctly.
Despite links/url addresses pointing to source files e.g. jpg, images are displayed as small in the frame with links to wordpress mobile apps and ‘There’s more to discover in the WordPress app.’ text. How can I switch it off and display the original linked image file? I had been looking for it in dashboard options and did not find anything.

I’ve noticed that the same happens in the desktop version e.g. https://filiaprimogenita.files.wordpress.com/2019/07/49022616.jpg

  • Hi there,

Are you referring to seeing the attached URL? I clicked on the link you provided and see the full image.

If you are seeing the attached link with an image, I would change the settings of the images to point to the media file:

Let me now if that is what you are seeing.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for your interest.
My links point to media files (jpgs, pngs, etc.). However, sometimes, instead of opening the media file [the url address is ending with *.jpg and everything should work normally), the white wordpress frame is opened with and badges pointing to wordpress apps for Android and iOS (it happens also when desktop browsers are used). When I click ctrl+u to display the source the original media file opens. When I check in web tools in my browser I see the code which wordpress seems to force upon the link e.g.

    [redacted by staff]

The thing is very annoying because I do not want the above things to be displayed – only the original media file and I do not know how to ensure such a simple thing.

  • Hi there,

I’ve removed the code you pasted as it was breaking the page. If you need to share code, please use the code formatting from the toolbar above the editor, that way you make sure the code won’t be rendered.

As for the issue you’re experiencing, could you please share a screenshot of what exactly do you see? You can use an online tool for that (such as https://snipboard.io/) and paste the link into your reply.

  • Thanks for that. The app logos you see appears there because your site is on our Free plan.
