Image display size issue
-
I was wondering if anyone may have a tip for me. I have been transferring an html site over to wordpress and I am having an issue where the images, which displayed fine in html, are showing at a smaller size within the wordpress site.
I.E. An image I have that is 300x1135px is displaying at 270x1028px when viewed on the wordpress page (something close to 10% reduction in size).
These images have not been altered from when they were displayed on the html site. They have been directly uploaded via FTP to a specific directory for images, I did not upload them through the WordPress media library. I did make an attempt at testing the example image mentioned above by uploading it to the media library, but the result is still the same. Full-size is listed correctly in the media file info, but the display size is wrong.
I’m currently just trouble shooting to see where I need to start looking to correct this issue. I’m not sure if this is an issue with WordPress, or my theme (I’ve had a similar issue with a different theme), or maybe even a plugin (I don’t think any of my plugins should affect image displays though). I’m just not quite sure where to check for any code that may be creating this issue, or if I need to contact the theme dev instead.
My site uses WordPress 4.9.5, and I am using the xMag theme.

Hey jammerlea,
I am afraid that you’re on the wrong forums. Your website is hosted on Hostgator and we’re only able to help with the website hosted on WordPress.com.
And your website uses the self-hosted WordPress version(.org).
Please submit your query to WordPress.org forums. https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
