Image editing

I am so angry that word press have changed the photo editing system it took me awhile to figure out how to use the last system n I had it down so blogging was quick and enjoyable and now I have no idea again how to use it, without the percentages option it is all a matter of guessing n dragging the sizing n checking the preview to see if pictures fit side by side because there is no way of knowing I knew exactly what percentage to edit my photos to for them to fit n I could do it in seconds!!!!!! I do not know why they keep changing things it’s like you buy something off someone n then they rock up to your door come into your home and change it on you….. WTF, I’m not getting what I signed up for! NOT HAPPY WORDPRESS!!! Thinking of changing to a different blogging site.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Is there a question here?

There is from me. I’ve now tried re-scaling two images in two different posts and I cannot get it to work. I believe I’ve done what it says to do in SUPPORT but it looks like nothing has happened, and then when I preview the image box looks smaller but instead of the image there’s that question mark. Like prue above I’m frustrated!

Well, there ARE no emotional support forums, so let’s stick with the technical issues, shall we?

What browser and version are you using? What exactly did you do? What is the actual link to the image file in your media library? What is the URL of the post where you resized it? Have you read the sticky thread at the very top of the forum on the changes to the image editor?

Safari 7.0.2. I uploaded the image from file by browsing to it in my directory. I adde a caption, saved it in the draft, then I clicked the “pencil” to edit. I then clicked “Edit this image”, then “Scale”, then I entered a number to scale to (I think 600 first, and then later 400). I think clicked “save” or “update”, I’ve forgotten how the interface goes as it’s all pretty new. I got a message that suggested it was done and I think I then hit the Back button. It didn’t seem to look any smaller in situ in the draft, but in Preview the box looked smaller than it was in draft but there was no image displayed. (I ended up hitting the cross to delete, and then reloading and saving it in its full size). I don’t have the resized URL and I got rid of that image.

I read something in the forum about how to do it — I think it was the Sticky Thread – it was one of the links in the yellow section at the top? I thought I followed it, but it doesn’t actually do step by step. For example, after you enter the number in the scale area (I entered one number and, as they say, it automatically adjusts the other) there’s no clear instruction as I recollect about what you click next. I did what I thought was logical.

Yes the bloody question is WHY do they keep changing things? can someone please tell me I do not understand! and if they are going to continue to do so I want to know so I can leave and fine somewhere else that doesn’t keep messing with things that work perfectly fine! I am not that computer literate and it takes me ages to self learn how to use these things then they up n change everything. I do not understand what a URL is mate or any other technical jargon ok that is the point it was just easy to click on pic and use the percentages thing to change the size to what I wanted, it took second. I was going to go premium but if WordPress are going to do this I wont so I need to know that’s all, I don’t want to have to go through this n relearn shit all the time if I wanted to go to school I would!
