Image File Names Adding Underscore To Intermediate Extensions

  My company uses filenames that use periods as delimiters, ie:

  XXXXXXX.logos.XX02.png

  The sanitize function changes it to:

  XXXXXXX.logos_.XX02.png

  Is there any simple and non kludge way to change this behavior? It’s going to cause me a lot of problems if wordpress inserts underscores and changes my naming scheme.

  It’s not a good idea to use dots in a filename as dots are used as the separator between the name and the filetype. Instead of a dot, just use ‘-‘ instead.

  This behavior can’t be changed.
