image galleries

I am trying to set up galleries of images on different pages. On the main page of the blog i have a gallery of photos and can open an image then scroll to the next one.
However, on the other pages of the blog i have only found a way to insert photos on each page. Then, when i click on an image it opens up in a new window but then i can`t scroll to the next image without closing the last one.
In the instructions apparently galleries can be inserted on different pages but this option doesn`t appear when i try to do it. Has Nyone else had a similar problem? Many thanks for your help.

Hi, thanks for your suggestons. i had enabled the carousel and tiled galleries in settings and thought that that would do the trick but it didn`t.
In gallery support for images, it talks about a create gallery option under the add media tab but this doesn`t seem to appear. Maybe this is what is causing the problem.

Sorted it. Seems to be something to do with saving the page before adding the gallery. Thanks for your help.
