Hi there,
You need to disable Exif Information
Visit My Sites > Wp-admin > Settings > Media > UnCheck > Metadata (Show photo metadata (Exif) in carousel, when available). It will not show any Exif information in the gallery.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks! -
Thank you for your quick answer but I didn’t find metadata in my media menu. I have a free wordpress theme without own domain name and I think it cause my problem, do you think it?
-
Hi there, As @neelgajjar mentioned, this setting is found in your WP Admin dashboard.
If the site you need help with is cseresznyeskert.video.blog you can click on this link to get where you can make that change https://cseresznyeskert.video.blog/wp-admin/options-media.php
Scroll down a bit to Image Gallery Carousel>Metadata and uncheck the box next to Show photo metadata (Exif) in carousel, when available. and scroll down a bit more to save your changes.

Hi, I have found everything thank you so much!!!! I have never used admin site before, just the WP app in my mobile phone, and this was the problem why I didn’t find this menu. Thank you! I have another question: is there any opportunity to start the carousel gallery with that picture I click on?
-
Hi,
Is there any opportunity to start the carousel gallery with that picture I click on?
I think you are using the new editor. Because even I’m facing that same issue.
but when I switch to the Old classic editor and If I add the images in the gallery. Then If I click on image ni. 3 the carousel begins with image no. 3It may be a small bug.
I have added “modlook” tag for the staff assistance.

I click my post to edit it in the old editor, and the old editor show my carousel gallery as separated pictures and I can not edit it as a gallery.
And I want to remove the “whole size image link option” under the gallery pictures, how can I do this?
Thank you so much -
Hi,
I click my post to edit it in the old editor, and the old editor show my carousel gallery as separated pictures and I can not edit it as a gallery.
Please don’t use the old classic editor to edit Blog post made on the new editor.
Let the staff reply regarding the bug at the new classic editor. And I want to remove the “whole size image link option” under the gallery pictures, how can I do this?
I think for that you need to add custom CSS & You need to have at least premium wordpress.com plan.
Not sure. There is no specific setting to disable full-size image link.
Let the staff reply for both the issue.
Thanks

I think for that you need to add custom CSS & You need to have at least premium wordpress.com plan. This is correct. It is not possible to remove that link in the Image Carousel without editing the CSS of your site.
Keep in mind that you do not want to upload large, full-size images to your site because that will quickly eat up your 3GB of free storage. Resize and optimize them in an image processing program before you upload them to your WordPressdotcom site. https://en.support.wordpress.com/media/image-optimization/
About opening the Gallery thumbnail, the Carousel should display the thumbnail you click on, so I agree that this is a bug.

Hi csaladikalandok – Can you share a link to the post or page where this gallery is at on the site? Then I can take a better look.
-
Hello again, thanks for providing that link.
Staff will have a look at it when they look in again on this thread, but in the meanwhile can you please say in which editor you used to create and insert your gallery? Was it the classic editor or the new block editor? Thanks.
-
Hi there,
The first image always opening is a bug with the gallery block. Our developers are already aware of it and working on a fix, but for now the only way to prevent it is to use the classic editor instead of the block editor.

-
This has now been fixed, so if you now click on an image in the gallery created with the gallery block, that image should be the one that opens in the carousel as it does with old galleries.
