Image Gallery

Hello, I have image galleries on my site and the text I have written in the description for each image only appears when the little ‘i’ in the bottom corner is clicked. Is there a way to have the description text automatically come up without having to click on the ‘i’?
    Thank you

  • Hi there,

There is not an option to force the info field to be shown in the carousel (enlarged) view. To do that you will likely need to consider a 3rd party gallery plugin instead. It is possible to add any plugin or theme “designed for WordPress” by upgrading to the Business Plan.

This will allow you to explore the gallery options here: https://wordpress.com/plugins/?s=gallery

I have also reported this to our dev team as a possible enhancement we can consider for future updates. I don’t have a timeline on when (or if) that would be implemented but in the event that it is I’m happy to update this thread when we have more info.

In the meantime, you may wish to consider finding a way to include that info on the main page (instead of in the gallery view) since it’s not possible to force that info to appear in the carousel.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
