Image gallery

  I’m new to wordpress and I’m having problems understanding the galleries. When I insert images on a post, some seem to be included in the gallery and some not. If there is an image in the gallery, when I click Add media, that I don’t want included in the gallery I am about to insert, how do I remove it, without completely deleting it from my Media libery. And the other way around….if I have 9 images, that I want to insert as a slideshow, how do I get them in the gallery, when they are already in my Media Library.

  To exclude certain images in a gallery, that were uploaded into the post or page, use the “exclude” attribute in the gallery shortcode.

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/#gallery-shortcode

  It would look like this:

  [gallery exclude="17"]

  where 17 is the attachment ID of the image you want to exclude.
