Image gallery – attachment display settings not updating

    My images in my two galleries open up in the gallery display on the page itself but, when right clicking and trying to open an individual image in a new tab, the link is broken. If possible, I’d like the images to continue to open up in the gallery view but also open up in a new tab if someone would like to view them that way. Thanks

    Hi Margot,

    Thanks for the report! Currently, the “ATTACHMENT DISPLAY SETTINGS” when adding an image to a gallery are not working correctly. When you set the image to open the attachment page or media file, the setting is not saved correctly and the link doesn’t actually function within the gallery. We’re looking into this and hoping to resolve it soon. It’s actually a bug with self-hosted versions of WordPress.org as well. You can follow along if you would like here:

    In the meantime, readers can still open up the media page by clicking “View Full Size” in the lower right-hand corner as shown here:
