Image header not showing on blog

Hi there – I am new to WordPress… I recently activated a theme on my profile and strange things happened – they didn’t appear as shown in the preview. Various things happened, including the text reducing in size so that it was unreadable, the alignments would go awry… Today, I have been lucky – I managed to activate the PressRow theme; however the header image doesn’t appear, although according to my blog settings it should. I have tried uploading different images to the header but nothing. I now come to you for help.
    Many thanks,
    Elias

I see a header image showing moving walkways like at an airport. Is that your header image? Try logging out of wordpress, clearing your browser cache and cookies and then logging back in.

Hi there – yes, I managed to activate a header image with another theme, but not with the PressRow theme for some reason. I have reactivated the PressRow theme. Everything appears as it should, except that there is no header image. I also cleared by browser cache and cookies and logged back in but it doesn’t work? Any ideas how I can resolve the issue? The PressRow theme is definitely the one I want to go with. Many thanks for your help. Elias

Yes, I don’t see an image either with pressrow. I don’t know why this would be any different with one theme or another, but I would check the points below – especially check #1 – and make sure the image you are using is not too big for the space allowed in pressrow. I just sized an image of my own and popped it into pressrow on my test blog and it showed up.

When creating and uploading a custom header image to wordpress.com here are some basics worth remembering:
    (1) You can find which themes support custom headers, and the maximum header sizes for the most popular themes here: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/08/which-themes-can-i-add-a-header-image-to/
    (2) Be sure your image is one of these file types – jpg, jpeg, png, gif (Note that bmp’s cannot be uploaded due to size).
    (3) If you are using iPhoto, then use the “export” function under the file menu to export the image to your desktop before trying to upload it to WordPress.
    (4) Do not use anything in the file name except letters and numbers. Use no spaces, no dashes, no underscores, or any type of special character or punctuation, except for the dot between the file name and the extension. Also make sure that the file name has an extension.
    (5) Optimize your images so that your blog pages will load faster. See http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/08/optimise-your-images/
