Image icons

    Good day.
When I first signed up for WP a few days ago, when working in ‘visual’ mode, I could click on an image and it brought up a ribbon menu that included a small pencil. When I clicked the pencil I could add captions, edit links, etc. After a day or two this pencil disappeared and now the menu only lists alignment options, caption and delete. This means I have to edit all the image attributes manually in html.
Does anybody know how I can get the old menu to return?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress has a visual and text/html editing modes, I’m guessing you’re gotten into the text mode. Clicking on the tab labelled ‘Visual’ above the text box should fix that.

Thank you for your reply but I am working in visual mode and the pencil disappeared in visual mode. Therefore I have to go into html mode to manually edit thumbnail sizes etc.
