Image in sidebar not coming up in new theme

    Hi folks,

    I was happily adapting my blog to the new theme Modularity Lite and tried the image widget which should allow me to put an image on the side bar.
    – I added the image widget to the side bar
    – I uploaded the image into a post (draft)
    – Made it as small as it should be to fit (157×139) and put the sizes into the widget line
    – Put the URL of the post into the appropriate line too and saved
    – When I look at the result, I see a frame coming up which then should be filled with the image
    – A second later the frame is gone and no image comes up.
    – I can see the title if I fill in the title line but that is all…

    What am I doing wrong?

    What you’re doing wrong is that you put the post URL instead of the image URL. Go to Media>Library, hover under image title, click Edit or View, copy URL, use that URL in the Image widget.

    PS When you need to upload an image without inserting it into a post, you don’t need a draft post: you upload it directly via Media > Add New.

    Thanks a lot! Got it now :-)

    As the pictures usually go into a post or page, I hadn’t used Media except to get rid of stuff that was double or not wanted any more. Didn’t think of it… Another thing learned :-)
