Image in the header doesn't fit well

  Hi,

  My banner image is 1600pxx230px.
  However, it doesn’t fit well in the site.
  Could you please help me with this?
  What codes should I use?

  By the way, I would also like to reduce my site size, so it would fit the window, so I would want to reduce the image in the header as well.
