Image is optimized and correct pixel size and still being cropped?

Why are my images still being cropped if I post them as full size? I’m using Firefox and the images are only 22Kb and under 450 pixels. My theme is Dusk which supports up to 500 pixels. Is there another step I’m missing? Thanks!

Can you give us a link to the blog and to an image?

    Flower-original is 806 x 537 pixels.

The rest, at least on your front page aren’t being cut off as far as I can tell.

    This is my blog: http://fontofuselessknowledge.wordpress.com/

I don’t know why this is confusing me so….I resized all four pictures in MSPicture Manager and saved them all with a size of 448×336. The smaller pics in the blog are when I used the “thumbnail option” and the larger picture that is being cropped was put in using the “full size” option. When the blog is posted, the thumbnails are some 130 px wide and the full size is almost 800 px wide.

What can I do to insert an image that is larger than the thumbnail but smaller than the full size so it doesn’t break the layout? If I tried to stretch the image once it’s in the post, it distorts it. Thanks so much!

If you’re using MS Picture manager, the only thing I can think of is that you are uploading the version of the file that was not resized as opposed to the resized one. That photo of spice-demon-dog-original.jpg is actually 750px wide.
