  im a currently designing a blog for a client and she would like for her pictures to be liked similar to that of tumblr or instagram , using a heart to represent the feature. How can i go about doing this?

  What is the exact URL of the site you are working on please?

  We provide support here only for blogs hosted by wordpress.COM and the only themes we can use which are here https://wordpress.com/themes/ specify image dimensions.

  Provided you are referring only to a site hosted by wordpress.COM and not a wordpress.ORG software install see here for how likes will be displayed https://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/

  In the vent that you are not clear on the differences between wordpress.COM hosted sites and wordpress.ORG installs on paid hosting please read on.

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.   If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
