In the list of most frequently visited blogs on my dashboard/statistics page, I’ve been seeing a lot of links to pictures only, i.e., I wrote a post about baseball with a picture of A.J.Burnett, yet someone apparently only visited the picture that accompanied it. Why and how is this happening? What can I do about it?

It happens quite a lot, because Google image search brings up the image alone. You can’t really prevent them from seeing the image without blocking search engines from your blog, which would be impractical in the extreme.

The problem is, they may not be seeing the actual post, but just the pictures. It’s there, so they can see the title and go to it, but who knows.

It may be that they are looking for a particular type of picture and don’t care about your article. They do an image search on baseball player (or what ever) and look at the pictures to find one that fits their needs.

IMHO anyone doing a Google images search as raincoaster and allen008 have suggested probably will not be reading the posts.In the final analysis a page view is a page view. If you hold copyright to the images then watermark them and register them to deter image theft.
