Image links broken? Automatically adding prefix "i1.wp.com/"

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve had this WP site for 5 years and have never run into this issue, but this morning I noticed the image for my logo (which is hosted on Photobucket and is present on just about every single post) is missing, with a “sorry, this person moved or deleted this image.”

However, the image is still there on Photobucket where it’s always been. The issue seems to be that a “i1.wp.com/” prefix is being automatically added at the beginning of the code.

The link to the image (as written in the html) is
    http://s909.photobucket.com/user/yomtgtaps/media/ymtgt_logo_new.jpg

but when published, the link changes to
    https://i1.wp.com/i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac296/yomtgtaps/ymtgt_logo_new.jpg

which is resulting in a broken link.

I did a bit of research, but all I found is a reference to something called Jetpack that uses something called Photon. These have been identified as being a cause of this type of issue. However, I’ve never heard of either of these, and to my knowledge they are not installed on my blog. I looked through my Dashboard but I don’t see any sign of either of them, and therefore I don’t have the option to disable them.

Can anyone help? Anyone else having this issue?

    Thanks in advance!
    Joey

    Sorry, the correct link is

(Had the wrong link copied in my clipboard when I pasted).

(And seriously, there’s no way to edit posts?)

And now I’m noticing the same issue with my other blog, affinityforislands.wordpress.com. Any image hosted on Photobucket has either i1.wp.com or i2.wp.com added to the beginning of the image code, so it’s breaking the links.

Good news, looks like whatever was causing that weirdness on the site has been fixed. :) I’m not sure what the deal was, but I’ll take it!
